Jewelry Restoration: Continuing to Tell Your Family Story

"HR to MW 6/7/28" reads the engraving on the inside of the white gold band with ten small diamonds. It is a ring that has graced the hands of my mother, my grandmother, and my great-grandmother. This special ring had been in my family for nearly one hundred years, and it looked every year of it. The band was dull and the stones were wiggly- one had even fallen out.  The ring and the stone that had fallen out had been living in a tiny bag that stayed in my jewelry box, waiting for the right skilled hands to make it whole again.

The jeweler carefully reset the rogue stone, repaired the damaged prongs, and finished with a beautiful rhodium to bring the bright white back to life.
